Privacy Policy

More Land ("we", "us") is a travel planning app. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices and rights you have. If anything here doesn't match what you see in the app, tell us at hello@moreland.app — we'd rather fix the policy or the app than have them disagree.

1. Information we collect

Account information — the email address you sign up with, or the name/email Apple or Google shares with us when you use "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google".
Location — your device's approximate (coarse) location, used only while the app is open, to show places, weather, and events near you. We do not collect background location today, and we do not store a history of everywhere you've been — our caching is keyed to a broad map area, never to you personally.
Planning data — places, events, and plans you save inside the app.
Subscription status — whether you're on the free or paid plan, and (if paid) which plan. We do not receive or store your payment card details; those are handled entirely by Apple's or Google's app store billing.
App preferences — small choices like your chosen map avatar (picked from a built-in set — we don't accept photo uploads) and your temperature-unit preference (°F/°C).

2. Who we share it with, and why

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for advertising purposes. We do share limited data with the service providers that make the app work, strictly for that purpose:

Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and backend functions that run the app.
Ticketmaster and Eventbrite — to show nearby events. These requests are made from our own server, using a coarse version of your location — your device never talks to them directly.
Mapbox — to draw the map.
Wikipedia/Wikimedia — to show information about nearby places.
Open-Meteo — for weather forecasts.
Apple and Google — only if you choose to sign in with one of their accounts; we receive the basic profile information they share, nothing more.
Resend — to deliver the email verification code when you sign up. We don't send marketing email through this provider or any other.

3. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app — this immediately and permanently deletes your profile, your saved plans, and everything else tied to your account from our systems. Short-lived records like an email verification code are stored only as a hash and expire automatically within minutes.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription billed through the App Store or Play Store — the app will tell you this before you confirm deletion, and you'll need to cancel it separately through your device's subscription settings.

4. Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information at any time from the app's Settings. To request a copy of your data, or for anything else related to your privacy, email hello@moreland.app.

If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing — all of which you can exercise the same way, in-app or by emailing us.

We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of today — if that ever changes, this policy and the app will be updated to give you that choice before it happens.

5. Children

More Land is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

6. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
